L'IMPERATIF

Utilisé pour donner un ordre ou une consigne. Mais aussi pour une suggestion ou une offre.

Forme affirmative: 

  • Pour "you" : base verbale en 1er  (Open you book / Help yourself)
  • Pour "we" : let's + base verbale (Let's go to the pool)

Forme négative:

  • Pour "you" : Don't + base verbale (Don't run)
  • Pour "we" : Let's not + base verbale (Let's not talk about that)

Question-tag:  ajout de will you en fin de phrase (Close the door, will you?)

Pour insister:  Do+ base verbale ou always et never
                              Do sit down!

                              Always switch off the light when you leave!
